It's me, Hi, I'm the photographer - Brittney!
A millennial mama who skipped the midlife crisis and dove straight into grandma-core hobbies. Most of my day is quite literally containing chaos, and without it I would be lost - or elbows deep in yarn and books, it’s a toss up at this point.
When I'm not behind a camera, at the hockey rink or editing you can find me attempting to finish my current crochet project, planning my next camping or concert trip, deep into that month's random craft hyper fixation, reading + gardening (at least really trying - green thumb is still out for delivery).
I love keeping my house feeling like a home (cozy and a little cluttered sprinkled with nerf gun darts, in case you were curious), and have an ever growing/constantly evolving list of DIY projects much to my husbands dismay. "Whatever makes you happy" is a common phrase within these walls.
For the most part, I’m a homebody. I romanticize every opportunity to get out and explore that I can, and find comfort in the rainy days. I like to think I'm a solid mix between Taylor Swift + Dermot Kennedy - quirky yet "girl next door" meets artsy with visions in my head and a melody constantly flowing through my veins.
Hence why I believe making playlists should be a love language!

Where do I even begin with the full Gem + Tonic experience?
First things first, we get you booked! From there you'll receive my personalized style guide to help make the big decisions on location, wardrobe, timing - the things that make you sweat a little. I'll be there to help you through the entire process! What you really need to know is that throughout your session with me, it will seem a bit chaotic - and thats okay! You'll be spinning, playing, laughing, stealing kisses and getting all of the snuggles from your sweet fam. Will it all feel a little silly? Absolutely. But will the photos be authentic to you and your family? Also, heck yeah! My main focus is ALWAYS making sure that I'm capturing what is uniquely YOU. The looks, the touches, the things you wouldn't necessarily notice unless you're on the outside looking in.
